On Monday 3 March and Tuesday 4 March IP partner Ineta Krodere and associate Aleksejs Valle attended the two-day international conference “Intellectual Property and Beyond”, which was held in Riga at the Latvian National Library – the Castle of Light. The forum was organized under the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union by the Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM). Panellists provided valuable insights on a wide range of hot intellectual property topics, including development of the European patent with unitary effect and challenges the European entrepreneurs currently face in commercialising innovation. Most prominent among the attendees were Director General of the WIPO Francis Gurry and Minister for Justice of the Republic of Latvia Dzintars Rasnačs.
